Thunderbird Lodge

When looking for an extraordinary location to host your special event, look no further than the historic Thunderbird Lodge. The magical six-acre waterfront estate, unparalleled in beauty, is a rare Lake Tahoe treasure.

From the three story waterfall that cascades past the granite boulders in front of the Old Lodge, to the six hundred foot long tunnel and secret passageways, the Thunderbird Lodge is sure to intrigue even the most seasoned wedding and event guest. Meticulously assembled by dozens of craftsmen - Cornish miners, Italian ironworkers, Scandinavian carpenters and Native American stonemasons - the Lodge is truly a one-of-a-kind site that will make your event exceptionally memorable.

Delight your guests with a complimentary guided tour of the Thunderbird Lodge. The Lodge's owner, George Whittell Jr., had near unlimited wealth in the post Depression era and spared no expense in the construction of his whimsical "Lake Cottage". At one time, Whittell owned 1/3 of Lake Tahoe's shoreline and the surrounding 40,000 acres. Stories abound of his infamous, high stakes poker games which he hosted in the estate's Card House and the chorus girls that he secreted in through the tunnel to entertain his guests. His pet lion Bill maintains his own notoriety in Lake Tahoe's history.

Located just outside of Tahoe City, only a 5 minute drive or a short bike ride or walk in the summer, Suzanne’s is the perfect place for a large get-together. This home can sleep up to 14 people in its four bedrooms and has a new hot tub.
 

Suzanne’s is almost a stone’s throw from Lake Tahoe, and the home is blessed with fantastic lake views especially from the common rooms and spacious grassy back yard. When you are not at the nearby pool or tennis courts, you can walk to private or public beaches that you will have access to in the summer.

The sand area has a fire pit: perfect marshmallow roasting area and a great playhouse for the kids. The garden is beautiful: true English style and there is an outdoor dining area at the end of the garden that is practically on the beach as well as a hammock for those lazy afternoons.

A fantastic way to have an indoor/outdoor setting at Skylandia Park. A Transparent Tent offers a very different feel.

Fairwinds is ideal for a corporate getaway, family gathering, wedding or school trip. Fairwinds is approximately 4400 square feet. Each of the six divisible bedrooms consists of a private room, a sleeping porch, and a bathroom (four with showers and two with tubs). Each bedroom sleeps four, with beds ranging in size from king in the master bedroom to queen and twin in the other rooms.

Visitors to Fairwinds can huddle around the fireplace after skiing in the winter or bask in the summer sun on spacious decks and a private sandy beach.

With countless activities just minutes away in any direction, Fairwinds is the perfect place for any group’s Lake Tahoe vacation.

Fairwinds is perfect for large groups (10-30 people) for daily, weekend, weekly, and monthly rentals. Rental rates vary according to the season and to the size of the group, rates are more competitive than hotel rates which do not include use of kitchen facilities and other amenities.

FitzHaven-Tahoe is located on the North-Shore of Lake Tahoe on the California side. Our breathtaking 180+ degree, unobstructed view of Lake Tahoe, makes FitzHaven-Tahoe one of the most sought-out locations for weddings, corporate functions and film locations.

Whether your event is for 30 or 300 people, FitzHaven-Tahoe can accommodate you. Our 4500+ square foot deck and 37+ acres of forest puts your event in what we call "Heaven on Earth".

FitzHaven-Tahoe has a flat fee for weddings and corporate functions. For film location, fees are based on the scope of the days for the shoot and need for additional location resources. In addition to the location rental, all events are required to have $1,000,000.00 liability insurance; insured and licensed valet attendants; and an event security staff.
